NEW DELHI: Congress MLA Vinesh Phogat on Friday dismissed allegations of her absence from her constituency in Haryana’s Julana, labeling the claims as baseless and politically motivated.
“This is cheap; it’s been just one month… They (referring to BJP) are desperate. I am present here and I am not missing,” said the Julana MLA Vinesh Phogat when asked about her ‘missing’ posters, that went viral recently.
Missing posters of Julana Congress MLA Vinesh Phogat have gone viral on social media, accusing her of being absent from her constituency during crucial times.
The posters, allegedly circulated by BJP workers, surfaced after Phogat missed the entire four-day Haryana Assembly session, reportedly to campaign for Congress leaders in Wayanad and Maharashtra. The poster read, “looking for the missing MLA. The entire assembly session has passed, but Madam MLA has been absent throughout. If anyone sees her, please inform the people of Julana.”
Phogat, a first-time MLA, defeated BJP’s Captain Yogesh Bairagi in the 2024 elections by 6,015 votes. A former wrestler and Olympian, she joined Congress after resigning as an OSD for sports in Railways.
