‘J&K may increase disability pension to Rs 3000 per month’

JAMMU: The govt of Jammu and Kashmir is mulling to increase the disability pension from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 per month, said Sakeena Itoo, minister of Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sunday.
“We are working to increase the disability pension,” she said, adding, “The present Omar-led govt is committed to address all issues of people, especially the specially abled.”
Itoo interacted with the specially abled while distributing artificial limbs and other aids in Jammu, and said the increase will help alleviate financial burden on families.
Jammu and Kashmir’s lone woman minister assured them continuous support so that the specially abled lead independent, quality and dignified life.
