Dentons Expands Litigation Practice with Addition of Seven Elite Attorneys in Salt Lake City and Lehi

Salt Lake City — Dentons Durham Jones Pinegar, a member of Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, announces the addition of shareholders Aaron Clark, Peter Donaldson, Michael A. Gehret and Trinity Jordan, along with attorneys Kristin A. Baughman and Jordan Westgate, and associate Jake R. Lee, to its litigation practice. Prior to joining Dentons Durham Jones Pinegar, all seven attorneys were based in the Salt Lake City office of Armstrong Teasdale LLP.

Aaron Clark, a former Assistant United States Attorney, is a seasoned attorney with nearly two decades of litigation experience, where he has focused his practice on financial and white-collar crimes. Aaron has jury and bench trial experience and possesses extensive knowledge of statutes governing fraud, money laundering, national security, election and tax fraud, narcotics and firearms trafficking, public corruption, mail and identity theft, and immigration.

Peter Donaldson returns to Dentons. Donaldson is an experienced trial attorney who handles a broad range of commercial litigation matters, including disputes involving contracts, real estate, land use, corporate governance, fraud, business torts, fiduciary duties, employment, insurance, franchising, creditors’ rights, intellectual property, estates and trusts, receivership, securities and other matters.

Michael A. Gehret has worked as a national trial and bankruptcy attorney for many of the largest corporations in Utah and across the country. Mike represents financial institutions, private equity funds, energy and solar companies, healthcare, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, developers, commercial property owners, title companies and homeowners associations, casinos and ski resorts.

Trinity Jordan, a former Assistant United States Attorney, is an experienced trial attorney who focuses his practice in the areas of federal criminal defense, entertainment law, corporate and nonprofit litigation. While his practice primarily involves federal law matters, he also regularly represents clients in state and federal courts. In the entertainment industry, Trinity has worked with a number of independent film producers, writers, and artists. He has also represented some of the largest private companies in the United States, as well as many local businesses, contractors, and individuals in government investigations.

Kristin Baughman has more than a decade of commercial litigation and appellate experience. Her practice encompasses a broad range of skills, including advising clients in complex commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, commercial loan restructuring, bankruptcy, and real estate litigation.

Jordan Westgate focuses his practice on a variety of civil matters, including commercial litigation, collections, employment law, domestic litigation and appeals. He has extensive experience in legal research and review, as well as drafting legal motions and memoranda and attending hearings and trials.

Jake Lee has extensive experience gained through numerous judicial internships, including for Judge Allison H. Eid of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, Judge David B. Barlow, and Judge Dee V. Benson of the United States District Court for the District of Utah. Through these and other internships, Jake gained experience leading research and assisting in the drafting of various appellate matters and appellate briefs.

While a law clerk in the Utah County Attorney’s Office, he also argued and conducted a jury trial on a retail theft charge under the third-year practice rule.
