Oh, Rachel Mitchell, where are you? Stop applying and do your job!
Where is the investigation and the resignations? Where is your outrage?
Your excuse was that there was too much evidence to review before you could take action against Gilbert’s thugs. Really?
For more than two years, rich, entitled thugs beat up teenagers in Gilbert and Queen Creek and got a shock. All of these crimes were reported to the police and schools.
And we all wait.
Why did it cost Preston Lord and the community their lives to march and demand action before you and the police chiefs were forced to act?
Where is the accountability for the delays that people with money and influence were allowed to get away with?
Why is that?
How about we stop bragging about the governor and start looking in our own backyard?

I did not do military service, that is clear to me.
I was disappointed, but not surprised, by the news that Steve Slaton, a Republican candidate for state Senate and owner of the Trumped store, is accused of inflating his military service during the Vietnam War.
Little is taboo in the veteran community. Still, there are lines that any self-respecting veteran will never cross. Lying about military awards and combat duties for personal gain is one of those lines.
I served in the United States Air Force during the late Vietnam War, and like most veterans, I am careful to make the distinction that I am a Vietnam-era veteran, as opposed to a Vietnam combat veteran, to avoid confusion.
My family gave a lot to this country during that time. My brother spent two tours in Vietnam and was hospitalized for months after narrowly surviving a helicopter crash.
After my uniformed service, I spent decades helping heal the human toll on the bodies and souls of Vietnam combat veterans like my brother.
This veteran will vote for the truth this fall.

Brewer ignored Trump in the room
Jan Brewer’s column on restoring confidence in elections did not address the main reason many Republicans don’t trust elections: Donald Trump told them not to.
The reality is that no one was talking about voter fraud until Trump, months before the 2020 election, repeatedly told everyone that they couldn’t trust mail-in ballots and that the only way they would lose the election was if it was rigged against them.
The lack of confidence in the election is solely the fault of Trump and the Republican leaders who did not stand up to him and tell the public the truth about the election.

Hockey is not a priority for Arizona
Guess what looks bad for everyone in Arizona? Let one of the big four professional teams leave the state!
Alex Meruelo has a lot of blame for things he should be doing, when no one is excited about maintaining an NHL team.
John McCain is turning in his grave! Can’t you find land for another stadium? But I’m sure we can find land for many other things!
Guess where the best player in the NHL learned to play hockey? Leaders need to step up and preserve one of the best assets they can have in the Grand Canyon State!

What has become of our country?
Today’s paper looks at a pastor in Mesa who believes women should be prosecuted for murder if they have abortions, and a Republican co-chairman who wants to “lynch” a fellow Republican for exposing the facts.
The Bible states that a fetus is not considered “alive” until it breathes. However, once they are born, they face their number one problem: guns are the leading cause of death among children in the U.S.
When I was a kid we had air raid drills. Now they have “active shooter” drills.
What has become of our country?
A candidate who claims there will be a “bloodbath” if he is not elected is not a democracy. Demanding “loyalty” is not part of democracy. History has shown that forcing loyalty through fear and propaganda is not the way to keep democracy alive.
This is how Putin, Xi Jinping and Kim Jong Un run their countries: propaganda, lies and fear. Is that what people in America want?
