In response, Macron, Hidalgo and other officials said they would get in the water and swim to prove how safe it is… and many started joking that they should turn the river into a latrine to prove their point.
Well… it seems that the joke has gotten a little out of hand, because now there is a website including a calculator to help people determine what time they should leave their excrement in the river so that it arrives in Paris at noon tomorrow if they live in the countryside.
Plus, influencers are talking about the protest as if it’s really going to break out… and they’re including snaps of the Sena which we must say looks pretty green.
Of course, this comes just weeks before the Paris Olympics… which have open water swimming events scheduled to cross the river. By the way, many in the city are angry that the Olympics are taking place, so this may end up being a widespread protest for angry Parisians.
