Yo Yo Honey Singh, whose real name is Hirdesh Singh, is an Indian singer, rapper, producer and actor. He started his career in 2003 as a hip-hop music producer and worked for several years in the underground music scene until releasing his debut album, International Villager, in November 2011. Honey Singh has made many iconic songs during his stint in the music industry and has also lent his skills to several Bollywood celebrities. However, when it came to Salman Khan’s film, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, the latter didn’t just want Honey’s musical skills. He had asked the rapper to rap for a song and to feature in its music video. Honey Singh’s recently released documentary, Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous, shared an anecdote with the world where he revealed how Salman approached him for the song, Let’s Dance Chotu Motu.

In the documentary, Honey shared that Salman Khan had sent him a song he wanted the former to rap in. He added that Salman was supposed to shoot for the song in the coming two days, and he wanted Honey to do it. The singer also revealed that when he heard the song, he realised that it needed a rap that would elevate its vibe. He and his team brainstormed ideas and created the rap on the spot. Honey was quoted as:

“Salman Khan has sent me this song. This song is made, and he wants me to rap in it. He is shooting for the song in the next two days. I had the opportunity to sing this song, and he asked me if I wanted to rap in this song. So, we will see. We will have to come up with a rap for the song.”

Salman Khan reveals that Honey Singh finished the rap in 30 minutes

Honey Singh’s talent is unmatched, and the actor knows about it. During his appearance in Honey Singh’s documentary, Salman Khan revealed why he felt the singer would be the perfect choice for the song. He shared that he was shooting for Bhaijaan in Hyderabad when he thought of Honey. He added the singer went to his studio for 30 minutes and finished the rap. Salman was quoted saying:

“I was shooting for Bhaijaan in Hyderabad, and I had this thought, so I gave it to Honey. He went to the studio, and in half an hour, he finished the rap. Then, I requested Honey to come and be in the song with us. It’s a really cool song for kids.”
