A two-vehicle crash that happened about 9:42 a.m. Friday has claimed the life of a Tallassee man.

Gavin Oryen Prescott Young, 23, was fatally injured when the 2017 Chevrolet Malibu he was driving struck the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Tanner Lamar Colquitt, 24, of Wetumpka, said Senior Trooper Kendra McKinny, a spokeswoman for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Young was pronounced dead at the scene. Colquitt was injured and taken to Baptist South in Montgomery for treatment.

The crash happened on Taylor Road, about four miles southeast of Tallassee city limits, in Elmore County.
