Manchester City’s Phil Foden has been named Premier League Player of the Season.

The 23-year-old, who has 17 goals and eight assists this season for current Premier League leaders Manchester City, was also voted Player of the Year by football writers earlier this month.

Foden twice won the Premier League Young Player of the Season award in 2021 and 2022 and was nominated for the top award alongside ErlingHaaland, Alexander Isak, Martin Odegaard, Cole Palmer, Declan Rice, Virgil Van Dijk and Ollie Watkins this anus.

The award was decided by a combination of votes from the public and football experts.

After receiving the award, Foden said: “Winning this award is an achievement I am very proud of.

“The Premier League is recognized as the biggest league in the world and it is a pleasure to have been nominated alongside so many other great players who have enjoyed special seasons for their clubs.

“Overall, I am very happy with the way I have played this season and very happy that I have been able to contribute with goals and assists throughout the season.

Cole Palmer completes a perfect hat-trick in the first half against Everton, becoming his second consecutive hat-trick at Stamford Bridge.

Foden’s former Manchester City teammate Cole Palmer won the Premier League Young Player of the Year award after an impressive season with Chelsea.

The 22-year-old, who has scored or assisted 32 goals this season, heads a list of eight stars, including the Arsenal duo. Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, Manchester City pair Haaland and Foden, Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie, Newcastle’s Isak and Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.
