Lucy Hale and Ian Harding Reunite for Holiday Rom-Com The Twelve Dates of Christmas as Fans Celebrate Nostalgic Instagram Post

Lucy Hale and Ian Harding have reunited on social media, giving Pretty Little Liars fans a new look at the former co-stars ahead of their upcoming holiday romantic comedy. The pair, who played Aria Montgomery and Ezra Fitz on the Freeform series, recreated a familiar pose in an Instagram post published on October 25, 2026.

The post included a side-by-side comparison with a throwback image from their time on Pretty Little Liars. Hale captioned the image, ‘A little older and wiser but the same two idiots!’ and added that news about their new project would be coming ‘sooon.’ The post can be viewed at https://www.instagram.com/p/De6egq_xN-5/.

Fans React to the Reunion

The nostalgic post drew immediate reactions from fans who have followed the Aria and Ezra storyline since the show premiered in 2010. Commenters described the reunion as ‘iconic’ and expressed excitement about seeing the actors work together again.

One fan wrote, ‘I need ezria to come back this is exactly what I need,’ while another said, ‘And the fact you’re working together again makes my pll heart very happy.’ The response highlighted how closely audiences associate Hale and Harding with their characters, even though the actors are reuniting for a new story rather than a revival of Pretty Little Liars.

The Twelve Dates of Christmas

Hale and Harding are set to star in The Twelve Dates of Christmas, a holiday romantic comedy directed by David Lipper. The film follows Christina Walker (Hale), a successful shop owner who decides to go on twelve dates in the twelve weeks leading up to Christmas in hopes of finding a partner.

The project was first announced in December 2025. In an October 4, 2026 TikTok video, Hale confirmed that the film is coming this Christmas and addressed a question fans had about the new pairing. ‘And yes, we play the same age this time,’ Hale said in the post.

The cast also includes Penelope Ann Miller as Christina’s mother, Paul Ben-Victor as her father, Khayun Kim as her best friend, and Greer Grammer as a nemesis. Demetrius Shipp Jr., Carter Jenkins, Leonidus Gulaptis, and Zack Pearlman have also joined the film.

Release Details Still Pending

While Hale has said the film will arrive this Christmas, the exact release date and platform have not been announced. It is also unclear whether the movie will debut in theaters or on a streaming service.

The film is produced by Latigo Films, BuzzFeed Studios, Applewood Studios, CaliWood Pictures, and Fortitude International. No trailer has been released.

The October 25 Instagram post is the most recent confirmed update. Hale and Harding have not announced a specific launch date or distribution plan beyond the Christmas window.
