CD Projekt Red to Reveal Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 Update Details Today

CD Projekt Red will reveal full details of the Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 Update, also known as Update 2.5, during a special REDstreams broadcast later today. The free update is scheduled to launch on October 22, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Update Tied to Anime Premiere

The update coincides with the premiere of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 on Netflix, which released all ten episodes on October 20, 2026. The anime is a collaboration between CD Projekt Red and Japanese studio Trigger.

CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the update will include content inspired by the anime, along with cyberware customization and a new dual-wielding playstyle. ‘Chrome up, chooms! A new, free update for Cyberpunk 2077 is coming on October 22nd,’ the developer said in an official announcement.

Reveal Stream and Patch Notes

The REDstreams broadcast is set for 5 PM CEST (11 AM ET) on October 21 and will be available on Twitch, YouTube, and Steam. ‘More details about the Edgerunners 2 Update will be shared on October 21, 2026, during an episode of REDstreams, followed by the publication of official patch notes,’ CD Projekt Red said.

Ahead of the official reveal, leaked information has surfaced online suggesting additional features such as new side quests, a new radio station, and console mod support. These details remain unconfirmed until the official patch notes are published.

Release Platforms and Switch 2 Timing

The Edgerunners 2 Update will be free on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version will follow shortly after, according to the developer.

The REDstreams broadcast and the subsequent patch notes will provide the first official look at everything included in Update 2.5. The update arrives on October 22, two days after the anime’s Netflix debut.
