Jacquees Released on $3,500 Bond After Florida DUI Arrest, Denies Battery on Officer

R&B singer Jacquees was released from Broward County jail on Monday after posting a $3,500 bond, following his arrest on charges of driving under the influence, resisting an officer without violence, and battery on an officer, firefighter, or emergency medical technician. The 32-year-old artist, whose legal name is Rodriquez Jacquees Broadnax, denied striking a first responder as he left custody.

Arrest and Charges

Hollywood Police took Jacquees into custody on Sunday, September 27, 2026, near North 62nd Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard. According to an arrest report, officers responded shortly before 8 a.m. to a call about a man passed out inside a pickup truck.

Jacquees was found asleep in a Jeep Gladiator at the intersection with Hollywood Boulevard. Officers and firefighters attempted to wake him by tapping on the window and shaking the vehicle, but he remained unresponsive. Firefighters eventually used a window punch to gain entry, and he was placed on a stretcher and moved into a fire rescue truck.

An officer noted an odor of alcohol coming from Broadnax. A short time later, a firefighter reported that he had become combative and was trying to get out of the back of the truck. According to the report, Jacquees told an officer he needed to use the bathroom and asked the officer to move. When the officer placed a hand on his arm, Jacquees punched the officer’s arm, leading to his arrest.

Bond Hearing and Release

Jacquees appeared in Broward County bond court on Monday, September 28. A judge set his total bond at $3,500. He was initially held at the Broward County Main Jail before being released later that day.

Upon leaving the jail, Jacquees denied the battery allegation. ‘They gonna have to show the bodycam footage,’ he said. ‘My nose still kind of hurt.’

Representatives and Prior Incidents

Jacquees’ representatives have not released a public statement regarding the arrest. The Hollywood Police Department has not issued additional comments beyond the arrest report.

This is not Jacquees’ first legal issue. In 2023, he was arrested in Gwinnett County, Georgia, on simple battery and obstruction charges after a woman accused him of choking her and biting her hand. He was later released on a $3,700 bond in that case. In 2018, he faced traffic-related arrests in Miami and Atlanta.

Current Status

As of Tuesday, September 29, 2026, Jacquees has been released from custody. The charges against him remain pending, and no court date beyond the initial bond hearing has been announced. The investigation is ongoing.
