Radiohead confirm 2027 Australia and Japan tour dates with ticket registration now open

Radiohead have officially announced a 21-date tour of Australia and Japan for 2027, marking their first performances in Australia in 15 years. The residency-style tour will see the band play 16 shows across three Australian cities before heading to Japan for five concerts in Saitama.

The tour begins on May 3, 2027, at Perth’s RAC Arena, where Radiohead will perform four shows. The band will then move to Melbourne for six concerts at Rod Laver Arena and Sydney for six shows at Afterpay Arena, concluding the Australian leg on June 1 . The final five shows will take place at Japan’s GMO Arena Saitama from June 8 to 13 .

Ticket registration process

Tickets will not be sold through a traditional first-come, first-served system. Instead, fans must register for a chance to purchase tickets via a ballot-like process on Radiohead’s official website, with registration closing at 5 p.m. AEST on Thursday, September 10 .

There is no benefit to registering early; every completed registration received before the deadline will be treated equally . Successful registrants will be notified and given a chance to purchase tickets next week, with a limit of four tickets per city per person . Each ticket includes a $2 donation to Greenpeace Australia Pacific and the Australian Marine Conservation Society .

First Australian tour since 2012

Radiohead’s 2027 shows will be their first in Australia since 2012, when they toured in support of ‘The King of Limbs’. The band last headlined in Japan in 2008, with a festival appearance at Summer Sonic in 2016 .

The band’s return to Australia follows their successful comeback tour in Europe in late 2025, which marked their first live performances since 2018 . Those shows featured career-spanning setlists and a circular stage setup, which the band plans to continue .

Multi-year touring plan

Radiohead have confirmed these shows will be their only concerts anywhere in the world in 2027 . The tour is the first phase of a multi-year plan first revealed by guitarist Ed O’Brien in March 2026, where the band will perform 20 shows each year on a different continent, ‘no more, no less’ .

‘We want to give absolutely everything each night,’ O’Brien said. ‘We do not ever want it to be like we’re going through the motions or we’re having to run on empty. We’ve got to be able to do it. And you know what? We’re not spring chickens anymore’ .

The band has not released a new studio album since ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’ in 2016, and there is currently no announcement regarding new material .
