Riot Fest 2026 Underway in Chicago as Saturday Headliners Tool and Morrissey Brace for Rain

Riot Fest 2026 is currently underway at Douglass Park in Chicago, with the three-day music festival having opened its gates on Friday, September 18 and continuing through Sunday, September 20.

The festival features headliners Twenty One Pilots, Tool, Pierce the Veil, and Alanis Morissette across five stages. Other major acts include Iggy Pop, Morrissey, Pixies, Rise Against, Social Distortion, Nas, and Alkaline Trio.

Saturday’s schedule is led by Tool, who are set to close the Riot Stage from 8:20 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Morrissey will perform on the Roots Stage from 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., ending just minutes before Tool begins. Nas is scheduled for the Rise Stage from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Bad Religion will play the Rebel Stage from 7:20 p.m. to 8:20 p.m.

Weather forecasts indicate rain showers are likely throughout Saturday, with thunderstorms possible after 1 p.m. Saturday is expected to be the wettest day of the weekend, with heavy downpours possible. Riot Fest is a rain-or-shine event, and festival tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Sunday’s schedule is headlined by Pierce the Veil at 8:25 p.m. on the Riot Stage and Insane Clown Posse at 8:55 p.m. on the Radical Stage. Alanis Morissette will also perform on Sunday, alongside Elvis Costello and The Imposters.

William Shatner is scheduled to make his Riot Fest debut on Sunday, September 20, performing a 40-minute set on the Rebel Stage with his new heavy metal band, The *uckers. The 95-year-old Star Trek actor previously shared a list of humorous rider demands for the festival, which included fire breathers on stage, a DeLorean to transport him, four feet of Polish sausage, and an assortment of playful puppies.

Grammy-winning trip-hop artist Tricky launched his first North American tour in eight years at Riot Fest on Friday, performing on the Rebel Stage from 3:15 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The tour continues through October 16, concluding at the III Points Festival in Miami.

Tickets for single-day, two-day, and three-day passes remain available for purchase, along with parking passes and upgrades to VIP, Deluxe, and Deluxe+ tiers. Three-day general admission passes start at $339.98, with VIP passes priced at $449.98 and Deluxe passes at $959.98.

Gates open at 11:30 a.m. each day, with performances ending at 10:00 p.m. in accordance with the Chicago city curfew. The main entrance is located at West Ogden Avenue and South Sacramento Drive. Organizers strongly recommend attendees take public transportation. The closest CTA L stops are the California and Kedzie stops on the Pink Line, and the #92 California bus stops directly near the festival entrance.

General admission tickets for any duration do not allow re-entry. VIP, Deluxe, and Deluxe+ ticket holders may leave and re-enter the festival. Among items allowed into the festival are air loungers, blankets, non-aerosol bug spray, Camelbak-style water bladder systems, and standard-sized backpacks that are not clear. Prohibited items include all types of weapons, bicycles, glass or metal containers, selfie sticks, and outside food or beverage of any kind unless for medical purposes.
